I was so excited for this movie to come out, and was a little disappointed after seeing it. The movie was about two hours long, and normally I prefer a bit longer movies because they tend to have more detail and go more in to depth. That was not the case with Snow White. The movie contained a few scenes that were drawn out and unnecessary in my opinion. The time slots where those scenes were could have been replaced with going more into depth of the characters. I feel as if the only character who the audience really got to know was the Queen (played by Charlize Theron.)
The main character, Snow White, (Kristen Stewart) barely had any lines, and the audience was not shown her personality. The voice over in the movie described her as sweet, loving, beautiful, etc, although the audience did not get well enough of a look into that. In my opinion, I think the audience had a better look at the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth). I also think that the movie should have shown more character in other characters that matter, such as the dwarves, and William (Sam Clafin).
As far as actors go, I think Charlize Theron played the part of the Queen beautifully. She's beautiful, but holds that evil in her eyes. I was disappointed when I found out that Kristen Stewart was playing the role of Snow White, and although I was not impressed with her role, she did a better job than I expected. My favorite role however, was by Chris Hemsworth, who played the Huntsman. The audience was able to see many different sides of him and I love that in a character.
I was also pleased with the way the movie included a little romance but not a full on love story. When William finds out Snow White is still alive, you can tell he still loves her, but nothing produces between them, that we know of. You can also see how the Huntsman develops a love and caring for Snow White throughout their journey, although again, nothing continues between them. I was glad there was no "She's mine!" type of fight between William and the Huntsman because it would have interrupted what was important in the movie and almost would have ruined what type of movie it is, it is not a romance.
Although a lot of the good parts of the movie were shown in the trailer, I was pretty pleased with the majority of the movie, except the ending. Snow White kills the Queen, takes the crown, and that's it. We never find out what happens after that, not to Snow White, the Huntsman, or William. She takes the crown, and boom, movie is over. Even though the movie was a little dragged out and in my opinion, some important things weren't shown enough, if the ending would have tied up relationships, and shown what path people were going, it would have tied the movie all together. Overall, I would give this movie a 3.5 out of 5.
